The team at Magna Vitae and Meridian Leisure Centre would like to say a huge congratulations to Waterwise swimmer, Jack Hewson.
Jack started lessons with us in February, as a complete non-swimmer. He had been advised
by his doctors that he would struggle with learning even basic swimming strokes, due to his health conditions.
Since starting Waterwise with teacher Lian, Jack has shown a great deal of commitment and determination to overcome his barriers. He always turns up with a massive smile on his face, ready to learn the next skill on his swimming lesson journey and has been an absolute pleasure to teach.
Jack has already completed the first 4 stages of the Swim England Learn 2 Swim programme and is making fast progress through Level 5. His enthusiasm for his lessons is inspirational, (he particularly loves diving and sinkies) and his love for swimming has given him the boost in confidence he needed to find other activities that he enjoys too.
Not only is everyone at Magna Vitae immensely proud of Jack, but the team at Blue Peter have recognised his achievements too! Jack wrote to Blue Peter about how much he loves his swimming and how far he has progressed in this short time and was thrilled to receive not only a reply, but a Blue Peter badge too!
