Mablethorpe Illuminations is BACK this summer.
There are only a few days to go before schools break up for summer. The annual illuminations event in Mablethorpe is upon us on July 29, 2017 between 7pm and 10.15pm.
An exciting line-up of music and entertainment has been planned for all the family to enjoy. So get your beach dancing shoes ready for an evening of fantastic music and fireworks.
We will hoist the flag and shout aye-aye with Rhubarb Theatre and their latest act, The Admirable Admirals.
Compère Paul Wood is returning and hosting the Mablethorpe Illuminations event for the third year running.
“We’ve had such an amazing time hosting the event over the last couple of years. It’s a great day for us, there’s such a great buzz and atmosphere around the place. What makes this event so special for us is so many people of all ages coming together and just enjoying themselves to the absolute maximum. The whole place has such a fun sense of humour.”
Faradays, the newly formed alternative rock band, will be making their debut at the event and showcasing original material and songs. This full-of-energy band from Grimsby play upbeat rock songs.
Lincoln based band The Procrastinators are quickly crafting their own set-list full of feel-good funk-pop covers designed to get the beach moving and the people grooving wherever they go!
Mablethorpe Illuminations end show
The night will finish with a performance by The Bikini Beach Band. Bringing an unusual take on Surf guitar music, they will mix classic surf and rock & roll. Numbers such as Wipe Out and Miserlou with contemporary pop songs such as Blue Monday and Toxic will be played.
As night falls there will be a grand finale of a spectacular firework display with the Illuminations as the backdrop.
Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council support the event with a street market on High Street from 12pm to 5pm.
