Flame OZ to light up SO Festival in Mablethorpe

/ Culture

A THRILLING fire show will be making its much-anticipated return to SO Festival this year, as it prepares to mesmerize and wow crowds in Mablethorpe.

Combining fire with dance chorography, the high-energy Flame Oz show is a must-see for all SO Festival visitors. The performers take on a unique routine with skilful circus artistry and spectacular fire-based effects, to an upbeat and emotive soundtrack.

Having already performed for more than 1000 audiences in across 40 different countries, Flame Oz cannot wait to return for a second time at SO Festival on 25 June.

Company director for Flame Oz Grace Billing said: “SO Festival is always a great evening with excellent artists and world class entertainment – there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

“Our act is like no other. We like to play with fire and we know how to dance with it. We make the flames sparkle and we can make gigantic fireballs dance around us without getting burnt. We are three true life pyromaniacs!

“For the past 13 years, we have performed all around the UK including Glastonbury and the Paralympics’ closing ceremony in 2012. We had a fantastic time performing in Horncastle last year and we cannot wait to return to perform as headliners in Mablethorpe in June.”

The Flame Oz fire show is just one of the exciting highlights to come to SO Festival this year. The annual free event promises nine days of explosive entertainment across Mablethorpe, Horncastle, Alford, Louth, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa and Skegness from Saturday 25 June to Sunday 3 July.

This year, the festival will be taking inspiration from the beautiful rural, agricultural and coastal landscapes of East Lincolnshire by focusing on ‘the elements’ – earth, air, fire and water.

Lorna Fulton, festival director for SO Festival said: “We cannot wait to see Flame Oz thrill the crowds in Mablethorpe and encompass the element; fire. Last year, their routine was unforgettable and left audiences completely awe-struck with their daredevil dance moves. It will be great to see what new surprises they have in store for their second performance at SO Festival.

“This year is already proving to be our biggest festival to date and with an array of exciting, free acts for all the family to see, it is not an event to be missed.”

Audiences will be able to see Flame Oz perform at 9.30pm on 25 June at the Central Pullover in Mablethorpe.

Aimed at a family audience, the festival remains one of the most exciting and innovative outdoor art festivals in the UK and entry to all the events at SO Festival are free.
