Louth Town try Virtual Fitness Classes

/ Health & Fitness

Here’s proof you need true ‘Grit’ to be a Louth Town FC footballer!

For the last month members of the team have taken up fitness training sessions at the town’s Meridian Leisure Centre – where, as a group together – they are loving the venue’s virtual classes.
Kitted out with the region’s largest virtual screen, the centre accommodates whole group sessions for the popular classes. In the main dance studio, the players meet on Wednesday evenings to take part in the GRIT workouts from leading global exercise brand Les Mills. With Les Mills experts beamed from the giant screen, team members are put through their paces.

Manager Carl Martin said: “This type of group virtual class is ideal for us, it gives us a chance to get together and improve our fitness during the winter, which is just what we need.”

The Lincolnshire League side also participates in regular virtual cycling classes, which are in Meridian’s dedicated ground-floor studio.

Chris Coveley, the sales and retention manager at Meridian’s operators the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, said: “It is great to see the Louth Town players here as our virtual sessions offer a low-cost and well-structured option for team fitness.”
